ABOUT

WHAT WE BELIEVE

God
We believe in the Holy Trinity: God is one—Creator of all things—comprised of three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While each person of the Godhead is unique in personhood and function, they operate in perfect unity with each other as a Holy Trinity.

 Matthew 28:19 Luke 3:22 1 John 5:7

Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, crucified, died, buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is true God and true man.

 Hebrews 12:2 Luke 1:35 1 John 5:20

Holy Scripture
We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct in every dimension of private and public life. We further believe in the literal interpretation of the entire Bible. It is immutable and unchanging, and does not change in accordance to culture, but culture should be changed according to the Word. We believe that all scripture is profitable for doctrine and that the Bible is a book written to mankind, for mankind, and that it is written in such a way as to be understood in clear human language.

 1 Corinthians 10:31 2 Peter 1:20-21

Salvation
We believe in the salvation of individual persons through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Their justification in faith alone comes through personal repentance from their sins.

We further believe in sanctification—the lifelong process of being made holy through grace alone. Sanctification commences in the holy, sacred, and powerful ordinance of immersive baptism and is evidenced by personal holiness and purity of heart and life.

 Matthew 4:17 Mark 16:16 Acts 2:38 John 8:11

The Church
We believe that the Church, as defined as the organized gathering together of believers under the leadership of five-fold ministry gifts, is ordained by God as His plan for evangelism and discipleship. We believe that individuals should not forsake the assembly, thus treating the blood of Christ as common and trampling it underfoot.

 1 Timothy 6:15 Revelation 19:11

Marriage
We define marriage as the permanent, exclusive, comprehensive, and conjugal “one flesh” union of one man and one woman. This biological family is designed for procreation and for the furtherance of the moral, spiritual, and public good.

1) We are to have absolute chastity outside of marriage.

2) We are to have absolute fidelity inside of marriage.

3) We are to accept marriage is a covenant for life that, once made, is only ended by death.

 Genesis 1:27-28, 2:18-24 Matthew 19:4-9 Mark 10:5-9

 Ephesians 5:31-33

Gifts of the Holy Spirit and Water Baptism
We believe that the God of the Bible is the God of today in principle, application, and expression. No gifts or manifestations of the Holy Spirit revealed in the book of Acts have “passed away,” but all are in full function for those who believe in faith. We believe in divine healing through faith in the name of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in the atonement. We believe there is one baptism into Christ, and one baptism into His power by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Water Baptism is a symbol of the new birth which happens within someone’s spirit upon turning to Christ, and that it should be represented by full immersion in water. We also believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is the power of God, and that the power of the Holy Spirit is necessary in order to evangelize the world.

 Matthew 28:20 Acts 2 Mark 16:15-20 James 5:14 Isaiah 53:3-5

The Present and Future Church
We believe that Jesus will return again to rule over the earth. It is the focus of end time prophecy to call the believer to live everyday as though Jesus will return, being watchful and living righteously.

 Matthew 25:1-13 Revelation 1:5-8

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light; true God of true God; begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man. And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; whose Kingdom shall have no end.  And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.  In one Holy, and Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
